Review of Secrets of Self-Employment (Working from Home) (Paperback)

I found this book to be quick and easy to read, with very applicable and down-to-earth information about the rites of passage to the entrepreneurial world.Their advice does not focus on actual business management, althoughthey do offer wonderful tips on such topics as time and paper flowmanagement.Instead, they address all the things typical business textsand professors do not mention.I have an MBA from a top 10 businessschool, and I am learning more from this book about the psychology ofstarting a business than I ever did in school.

The Edwards have helpedme to understand the fears and doubts I have had over the last few months, while I have been contemplating leaving my well-paying and secure positionat a large consulting firm.Until I picked up this book I thought I wasthe only one who questioned their decisions and their capabilities as anentrepreneur. Now I know that everyone has similarly scary feelings, andthat there are ways in which we can minimize them, and even take advantageof them.Every page offered some form of support or valuable advice, and Ifelt myself gaining confidence with each chapter.I also learned moreabout myself and what type of business I would prefer, after reading theirdescription of classic entrepreneurs vs. "propreneurs" (theirterm for individual professionals and craftspeople).I have gone from astate of anxiety to gung-ho enthusiasm!

It is apparent that these authorsspeak from direct experience, not from a podium in front of a classroom. They are brutally honest about their own mistakes and doubts, which servesto make a positive and helpful connection with the reader.

Review of The Practical Dreamer's Handbook: Finding the Time, Money, & Energy to Live the Life You Want to Live (Paperback)

The gurus of working from home have done it again-- managed to package a personal coaching experience into the pages of their latest work, The Practical Dreamer's Handbook. I wasn't looking for a book that would change my life, but I sure found it. With their usual practical hands-on approach to working through a problem, the authors have provided us with the means to evaluate our life, choose our dream, and find tangible ways to achieve our goals.

From visualization exercises to training us to set measurable goals that can be attained, Paul and Sarah Edwards provide us with the tools to finally live our dream.I started reading this book on a Friday afternoon, and by Sunday I had rewritten my business plan and set some personal goals with my spouse. I guess you could say it has changed my life, and I plan to practice these techniques for continued success and stress-free living. Many thanks to this talented pair who continue to share their secrets and talents with the rest of us.

Product Description
"Beautifully written and useful. . . . Paul and Sarah Edwards take you by the hand as you begin the process of manifesting your heart's desire."(Arielle Ford, author of Hot Chocolate for the Mystical Soul)

How often do each of us imagine a craft, business, or career we'd love to pursue, only to come up with a hundred different reasons why it can't be done? Our bills are too high; we're tied down to where we live; our families will disapprove; our dreams won't pay enough-the list goes on and on. This book is the answer to those self-limiting notions.

The authors of Working from Home provide three step-by-step sections on how readers can reverse their mind-set and marshal their resources to begin the business and lifestyle they have always wanted. Paul and Sarah provide a wealth of examples and anecdotes from real-life "practical dreamers" who have overcome the above obstacles and more.
