No matter what the book says. Pinnacle 9 and it's upgrade Pinnacle 10 are the worst non linear video programs in the history of all non linear based pc programs. Do not waste your time with a book on a program that is just garbage. Use Sony Vegas, it's the way to go. IF ICOULD GIVE THIS negative STARS I WOULD!

While the information presented was of interest, my specific goal was to link women and minorities to science and technology implementation rather than use.Many parts of the book were of limited use for my needs.Still looking.

This book was a revelation for me! I purchased a fairly advanced digital SLR without having a lot of experience, and have been struggling with learning all the nuances of photography and the equipment used.Lenses have been one of the biggest puzzles.What lenses should I get?Why does one 70-200mm lens cost $300 while another one costs $1700?How do I choose among telephotos and wide angle lenses?This book answers all those questions, and a lot more.

It's arranged in two page and four page layouts, with each set of pages dealing with a specific aspect of selecting or working with lenses.There are chapters on improving the quality of your results with any lens, using filters, and the correct use of every lens control.I learned about "bokeh," depth-of-field, perspective, and how to shoot great close-up pictures with the lenses I already have.

This book is meant for a Tech Writing Graduate Level class, but is poorly compiled.Good information, but delivered in a ball of mess. No structure to the book

Information designers bring together words and images in ways that enable people to understand, take action, or make decisions. A good information design helps people to use the content in ways that suit their unique interests. Although information designers have long recognized the importance of developing good content, much of the literature in the field has focused on issues of graphic design and typography. This volume broadens our perspective with new ideas about creating information designs that speak to peoples' needs through the design of effective content in products familiar to technical communicators.

Since the 1990s, information designers have been preoccupied with shaping content in order to reduce information overload. The authors here challenge us to think strategically about content-its selection, organization, and integration. They show that well designed content can help people ferret out fact from fiction, main points from details, and "must read" from "optional read" information. In addition, the authors remind us that the content we generate not only communicates information to people but helps to build relationships among people.

Review of Software Architecture Design Patterns in Java (Hardcover)

Design patterns used to be the hottest topic around a couple of years ago. One of the side-effects was the "Applied Java Patterns" book which I very much liked and used to recommend to anyone looking for a "GoF" replacement using Java for code examples. Not anymore. From now on, I'm recommending Kuchana's "Software Architecture Design Patterns in Java".

Why am I so pleased with this book? What makes it any different than other design pattern books? Well, first of all the volume is huge. Kuchana's book covers all the original Gang of Four patterns plus another 20 or so patterns, including a couple of multithreading related patterns. Second, the text itself is very readable and doesn't cling too much on fancy words. The explanations are concise and to the point. Further kudos goes to dealing with such frequently asked questions like the difference between Factory Method and Abstract Factory.

To list some things I didn't like about this book, I have to say that having exercises without sample answers in the back was a tiny disappointment and I would've preferred a bit more condensed font for the code listings. That's about it.

All in all, a very good choice for filling the gaping design patterns encyclopedia slot in your bookshelf. Highly recommended.

This book is good enough for reference.

There are something like IEEE/IEC VHDL is , but IEEE/IEC Verilog-HDL is not.

A word of VHDL is in the requriments driven design, not in the co-design.

IEC FMEA are in 8 sentences, but IEC HAZOP are no sentences.
IEC FMEA and IEC HAZOP are both important analysis technologies in software development.

Are they rudiculous? Or incompletely integrated?
