I read this book from cover to cover as my main learning aid for Network+ certification. I passed on my first try with a score of 85%. The author did a great job in the format of the book, chapters are short and point out theimportant stuff. He pounds the information into your head by summarizing itbefore going into the detail, and throughout the book he goes over theimportant stuff again. The end of chapter exams are great as well as theend of book exam. The practice tests on the CD are worth the money alone. Idid find some errors but that just helped me to understand those particularareas better. Besides, try to find a book without errors, you won't. GreatBook! Highly Reccomend!

I used this book, along with a few of the other W2K Server study guides to get ready for the test. Don't be fooled, the new W2K exams are difficult, but I found this book very helpful to get information quickly - and the hundreds of review questions are worth the price alone.

Review of Getting Started with HIPAA [ILLUSTRATED] (Paperback)

If you are looking for a solid review of the HIPAA Security Rule, I would suggest looking elsewhere.The breadth and depth of this chapter is very narrow (a mere 25 pages of shallow content) and I suspect it was actually written before the Final Security Rule was released in February of this year (2003).The frameworks for assessing Security Policicies and Procedures are nearly non-existent.While the book does have some solid HIPAA content, it's definitely not geared towards accurately assessing one's HIPAA Security Posture.

Review of CompTIA Network+ Review Guide: (Exam: N10-004) (Paperback)

I studied this book and did the review questions at the end of each chapter, along with the flashcards and practice exams on the CD. I consistently got 85-90% on the practice exams in two weeks.I then ordered Lammle's Study guide as I wanted something more in depth. After three more weeks of study, I passed the exam with a score of 845.

I am not an IT guy by trade, but I am considering it. This review guide was a good starting point for me to learn what the exam entailed.If you are an IT person, then this may be all you need to pass the test.I wanted a little more knowledge since I don't get that as an IT person would on the job.

Review of Microsoft Windows 2000 Core Requirements, Exam 70-210: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (Hardcover)

I found the book more like a user manual. Thebook does not discuss or gives examples like the sybex book I used for my NT 4.0. However, if you have the patience, the book teaches you all about Windows 2000Pro.

Another thing I like about the book is that there is no mention ofNT 4.0. Some Windows 2000 books in the market are face lift of their NT 4.0editions. But not this one. This book was written from ground up.

Butthis lack of NT 4.0 Coverage can be another hurdle for new NT specialist.You will try in vain to look up the Windows 2000 equivalent of an NT 4.0feature.

NO CD-ROM with the book !

I found the book helpful, but ifyou can, wait for the other publishers who are famous for their self studyguides.
